Pumpkin Gradient

Last Wednesday, after uploading the witches hats, I decided I wanted to do a gradient as it had been a while. I knew right away I wanted to start with Zoya Arizona. Then I decided to sponge on some gold. Starting with Zoya Goldie, I sponged about 3/4s of my nail giving a subtle gold tint to Arizona. I took another gold, a thicker and slighty darker glitter gold, Jesse's Girl in Fools Gold and sponged half the nail. With the orange and gold gradient going on, I knew I needed another color, and I though of green! Now, I really dont have many greens but I have this great green and gold glitter that was perfect, Wet 'n' Wilds Spoiled in Show Me The Money. I brushed a thin coat all over the nail, then again half way and lastly the tips. Yes, I know, there is alot of steps and layers, but I really love how it turned out! It's a perfect Fall mani! The picture does not do it justice, i wish i could have captured the sparklyness from the green a bit more.

Witches Hats

It's that time of the year again! I LOVE HALLOWEEN! Last year I did Pumpkins, Frankensteins and Mummies. This year, im starting off with Witches Hats! I started off with a base of Zoya in Shay. then taped my nail, leaving a triangle and used a black polish. Using the same black, I used a small brush to fil in the tips, creating the brim of the hat and made a curved hat tip. Then, Using a green nail art polish, I lined above the brim and added a gold buckle. I finished the design off with some colorful magic bubbles.

Pink and Gray

Its been a while since I last did a nail tutorial. and I was excited to do another one! This is a pink and gray stripe and dot design, very simple, but, I think it is really pretty! I started off with 2 thin coats of Zoya's Dove then used Zoya's Shelby to form a wide stripe down the center of the nail. Lastly, using a dotting tool I used Dove again to make the dots going down the center of Shelby.

Zoya BOGO Haul

As many of you probably know Zoya recently had a BOGO sale, up to 8 polishes (buy 4, get 4 free). I decided to take advantage of that sale and got the max number of polishes allowed. I got to tell you, it took a long time to just pick 8! I am so happy with my purchase, I don't regret any of the polishes I chose. Here is what I picked:

Wednesday (Green-Blue), Shelby (Pink), Dove (Light Grey), Arizona (Orange), Goldie (Gold), Shay (Nude), Opal (Green Flakie) and Chloe (Pink Flakie)

In the pictures I have Opal and Chloe on Black and White. However, you can't really see them on the white.

Chloe looks exactly like Essie's Shine of the Times.
In addition, because I bought so much, Zoya gave me a few freebies. I didnt get a picture with them, but if you watch the video below, I show the freebies at the end.

Do you guys have any of these? If you do, what do you think of them? If not, do any of them interest you?

Extremely Late Birthday Nail Post!

ARGGG! I swear I kept meaning to post this, but every time I remembered I was busy, and when I wasn't busy, I forgot! And just now, I remembered and I wasn't busy, and what happens when I click the "New Post" button? The Internet went out because of the thunderstorm I hear as I type this. Figures! Anyways, on to the real post.

August 5th was my birthday. and the day before, I was thinking of what I wanted to do on my nails for my birthday. I wanted it to be fun, easy and use some of my favorite polishes. After much debate I decided to go for Leopard Print (some call it Cheetah) on just the tips. The polishes I used are a couple of my new favorites, Weeping Angel from AdorBeautySupplies as the base color. For the spots, I used O.P.I in Take The Stage, that polish by the way, is another post I forgot to do, if you would like me to write my review on it, please let me know, I have the pictures still on the computer. For the outline, I just used the black I always use, FingerPaints in Black Expressionism. I also used a top coat that I had gotten from my friend Vita a while ago, Poshe Super Fast Drying Top Coat. If you would like me to do a review on that as well, please let me know. What do you think?

Color Theme: Purple

Sorry it has been so long! I had a hard time with this one. probably because I don't really have a lot of purple polishes, so I felt limited why playing around. This is a pretty quick and simple one to do though, so i hope you guys like it. I started of wit Sephora by OPI in Just A Little Dangerous and i lined the tip of my nail, following the smile line. Then I used L.A.Colors Art Deco in Magenta to line the top of the dark purple. Using the same Magenta, I created a hear shape in the middle and lastly, used the same dark purple to creat dots around the heart. Simple right?

Happy 4th of July!

To all those who celebrate Independence Day, Happy 4th of July!  I found this design on Pinterest about a week ago, and wanted to give it a try. I used Sally Hansens Insta-Dry in Whirlwind White. then using a coffee straw I brushed a good amount of Sally Girl in a red, on one end and quickly blew some air through the other, creating a splatter effect on the nails. I then used another coffee straw and did the same with Sally Hansens X-tream Wear in Blue It. I let it dry for a while and then put a quick dry top coat. it was fun to do, but too a while to get the hang of and I ended up making a mess and probably wasted a bunch of polish, but I think it might have been worth it, I love these nails! Here is the other hand:

Nail Mail China Glaze Swatches

Today I finally got to try out the polishes that I got from Vita on Friday and I got to tell you all, in the bottles, these babies were gorgeous! On my nails, they look fabulous, I am just loving them like crazy!

Lets start with The lovely blue with purple shimmer and blue glitter, Rainstorm. The shining light gold with silver glitter, Gilded Treasure. The glimmering pink with glitter the same color,  108 Degrees. 2 coats of each. Rainstorm looks matte in this picture, but it is not.

Next, we have the fun glitter that brings personality to any mani, Snow Globe. Because it is a clear polish with glitter I chose to use 2 coats of Heaven (China Glaze), a shimmering peach, and then put 2 coats of Snow Globe.

Lasty we have the Magetix Pull Me Close. Unfortunately I messed up 3 times as I put way to much polish on the first time, the second time I had it but then nicked it right in the middle of the nail. The last time, only half of the nail managed to get the design on it. I decided to call it good for now. I will be playing around with it more later. I used the side  of the magnet with the diagonal lines.

So here is all of them together:

After taking those pictures I thought to myself " 108 Degrees looks like the perfect watermelon pink, wait, i have some watermelon femos that Vita also gave to me." I then proceeded to put China Glaze Holly-Day on the tip and then used a light green striper polish and added black dots and a watermelon fimo slice.
What are your thoughts on these polishes?

Nail Mail

Hey everyone! Yesterday I received an amazing package of goodies from my BNFF (Best Nail Friend Forever) Vita! I have known Vita since January of 2011, when we meet in a nail forum on GaiaOnline and our friendship deepened as we joined a nail guild on that same site. Not only that, but we bonded over Youtube as we both have channels and do nail tutorials. Vita has been doing it for longer then me and she the most talented nail artist I have ever had the pleasure to know. If you havn't already please checkout her blog Nails by Vita and her Youtube Channel VitaR86. Vita and I are also members of the Facebook group, Nail Polish Collectors.

On to the goodies! The above picture is the majority of what she sent me, I couldnt get everything in the picture. time for the more close up pictures. I can not tell you how excited and happy I was to open that box up and see each and everyone of these as I unwrapped them all. The women sent me way too much! How am I to repay her? The only thing not in any of the pictures below are the straight nail clippers, but they are in the above picture.

Here we have a hand so I can practice acrylics, which she has promised to teach me. I will hold that too you Vita! As well as a #8 round brush that she has told me is her favorite, a star shaped candle holder to use as a dappen dish, what I assume is acrylic liquid in the small bottle and acrylic powder in white and pink.

The Fimos! I was so excited when I pulled these out of the box. 2 Large pill containers of various fruits and flowers and hearts, as well as some gems. I have never used Fimos before, but I have been wanting to try them for so long. I will be having alot of fun with these, I am sure.

I have been eyeing these Magnetix by China Glaze for some time, but I figured I would never get around to trying it out. I admit, I am a bit skeptical about whether it will work for me (or even if I can do it right) but I will do my best when trying them out. Hope I dont mess up! The polish is "Pull me Close".

Next we have IBD Natural Nail Primer and Poshe super fast drying topcoat. Vita has told me that she has heard it is even better then Sache Vite. I haven never used Sache Vite so I wont really be able to tell the difference, but I am always up for trying new topcoats!

Now we are getting to the really really good stuff! Bundle Monster image plates BM-214 and BM-212. I have 3 Konad image plates, but no Bundle Monster plates, I can't wait to try these out! I love all of the little images on these, they look so fun. You all get a bonus reflection of me, not that you can see it too clearly.

And last but not least, 4 China Glaze polishes. from left to right: Snow Globe, 108 Degrees, Gilded Treasures and Rainstorm. Vita knows me too well, she picked out polishes that I absolutely LOVE and would have picked out for myself in a heartbeat. It is like she was in my head!

I promised her I would do a reaction video when I opened it. the video is a bit long, but if you dont mind 12 minute videos, take a look at my reactions.

Thankyou again Vita, it was really sweet of you send me all that, I will be spending the next week or 2 playing around. Oh, its going to be so much fun! I will get swatches up as I try everything out.

Color Theme:Blue

Today is a rainy day so I could not go out and take a better picture, I apologize. Today we have the 5th installment of my Color Theme series, Blue! Blue is my favorite color, so it took me a while to come up with it because I was being so picky. I started of with a base coat and then using the tape method, I use Sally Hansen's "Blue It" to polish the tips if my nails. Then I covered my nails with two coats of a blue glittery Sally Girl polish, they never have names on these. After that I did one coat of Wet 'n' Wild "Rhythm & Blues". before finishing off with a top coat I used Jordana's Pop Art striper in "526 Fine Art". I hope you guys like these despite the awful quality. Tutorial here:

Purple Glitter!!!

It has been a few weeks since I last, truly did my nails. and it feels so good, to have them done again! Also, if you notice, they are back to being square, oh how I missed this shape. Don't get me wrong, I loved the round shape I had them in the last few weeks, but, there is just something comforting to me about the square shape. To start out with this Mani (after a base coat), I used a dark purple cream polish, Sephora by OPI in "What a Broad" and painted the tips of my nails. Then I used Wet 'n' Wild Spoiled in "Papa-Paparazzi" and did a diagonal tip, I did not cover the dark purple completely in this, I left a corner untouched. Lastly, I took L.A.Colors Art Deco in "Silver" and lined the glitter diagonal, then also outlined the top of the purple tip that was left untouched. After that I used a quick dry top coat and Done! I am really feeling this Mani!

Let me know what you think?

Spoiled Polish Haul

As many of you know, a couple weeks ago CVS had a sale on the Wet 'n' Wild Spoiled Polishes. the closest CVS to me is about 25 minutes away, but my lovely sister lives in Boston, close to a few CVS's so she picked a few up for me. I am in L.O.V.E with them! She managed to grab 7 of them for me, and I am just so excited to share pictures of them! Please excuse the mess that it looks. I was very excited and wanted to try them out, so a couple of them look very messy and bubbly on the nail. I apologize!  I also used this opportunity to redo my swatch for Don't Blink. :) Two coats of each, except 3 with the black and red polish.

From Thumb to Pinky on one Hand and Index to ring on other Hand: Are Mermaids Real?, Orange You Glad?, Show Me The Money, Papa-Paparazzi, Ants In My Pants, Designated Driver, Good Karma and Dont Blink!

Here is a non shady picture! Dont mind the blank pinky  ;)

Weeping Angel Polish: DON'T BLINK!

Last week my sister informed me of a polish she found on Etsy. I knew I had to have it. Doctor Who is my all time favorite TV show and Weeping Angels are my favorite Monsters on there! This Polish is so beautiful, it is a white/silver glitter polish that looks like stone.  Here is Ador Beauty Supplies Etsy Store where I purchased it. The only downside I have about this, is it's a small bottle, only an 8ml bottle! I would have liked it in a bigger bottle, but either way, this polish is worth it! I would consider purchasing again, for sure! Here is a little video showing the bottle and how it looks on the nail.

Color Theme: Green

In continuation of my Color Theme series, here is Green! I started off with Zoya Mitzi and then put a coat of shear shimmery green on top. I wanted the lime green color, but I wanted shimmer to it, that is why I chose to use to polishes as a base. Next, using a dotting tool ,created a 5 petal flower in white. After that, I used a dark green and the same dotting tool to do the centers. This is a very simple and easy design that I hope you all like. Here is a tutorial if you are interested:

See you later long nails!

That's right, my nails are short. or as short as I'm willing to go. Also if you notice, they are round. I have a reason for this. As I told you guys a couple weeks ago, I was going to cut my nails. Many of you probably don't know, but I am on a committee that organizes the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Walk in my area. I have been part of this for about half my life and I enjoy it every year. The day before the walk as well right after the walk, the committee and some volunteers set up/take down boxes of materials as also tables that are used for various things. Everything is pretty heavy and nails can easily break. Last year my nails were a bit longer then they are right now and I broke two. So, this year I decided to cut them a bit shorter and round them out so that the edges of the tips wont catch on anything. Also, shorter nails will just make everything easier and less stressful for me on those days. After the walk is over I will grow my nails long again and square them out. I was not planning on cutting them until next weekend, but yesterday morning, I broke 3 of them! Guess something/someone was telling me it was time. LOL.

Easter Nails!

Easter is just a few days away so I wanted to get this cute and easy design up. I hope you love it as much as I do! You can use so many different colors on this design and make it your own, with poka-dots or stripes. anything you want to add to the egg shells. I personally like them plain  like this better though. Here is the video:

Let me know if you try them, I always enjoy seeing what others do with the designs.

Happy St.Patty's Day!

To celebrate I did a coat of CG Fairy Dust and then a diagonal tip of CG Holly-Day and used L.A.Colors Art Deco in Gold Glitter to line the top of the green. then I decided to use some gold glitter ( Jo-Ann Craft Essentials Glitter) to form a 3-leaf clover and finished it off with Jesse's Girl Fools gold for the stem. Hope you Like! Unfortunately, I didn't put enough top coat or something, so on my pinky, it is missing a leaf. I didn't notice until after I took the picture. Don't worry, it is fixed now, and more top coat was added! I am using a different camera today so the pictures are a little bigger, I think. Please let me know what you think!

Dalek Nails!

I did my first set of fake (plastic) nails last night! they are for a my sisters cosplay, she is going to Anime Boston next month. She will be going as the human version of a Dalek, and she wanted her nails done. but as we live hours away and she can not have polish on her nails for work. we decided to go with plastic nails. Her costume is gold with brown "dots" so she chose to have the opposite on her nails. These took me 3 hours to do! but they look awesome! I used Jesse's Girl - Riff Raff and gold craft glitter. Unfortunately, as it was 12:30 in the morning when I finished, I could not get a good photo and she was leaving this morning. So here is the best photo I could take and a quick video so you can see it better. If she can send me a better picture, I will update this post!

UPDATE:
Today is the first day of Anime Boston. My sister just sent me this picture and I wanted to share!

Color Theme: Yellow

This one was hard to come up with. I don't have very many yellows, so I decided to use gold as well, as I felt it still fell in the yellow category. It is a unique design that I hope most, if not all, of you like!

And here is the video Tutorial, it is very easy!

Color Theme: Red

Hey Everyone, This week starts a series of tutorials, the theme is Color. For each video i'm going to take out all my polishes of that color and choose 1 to 3 of the polishes and create a design with them, I am also aloud to use white and black as Accent/Design colors. This is a new challenge for me, and i hope to learn a lot from this. I am going in the order of ROY G BIV,  but will be combining Indigo and Violet together. Enjoy!
